Thunder Bay, Ontario is located on the shores of Lake Superior, the world's largest freshwater lake.  It is the gateway to northwest Ontario - the rugged Canadian wilderness and over 150,000 lakes, rivers and streams. Day trippers can use the comfort of modern hotels to explore the parks and outdoors mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, angling and sailing.  So many opportunities are all within walking distance.  The more adventurous can paddle on the endless rivers and lakes or book a float plane and explore the remote lakes and lodges.

The word is that the culinary scene is outstanding!  If you love food, then you have come to the right place.  You will find a wide experience expanding from vegan to greasy spoon to upscale bistro and everything in between - and add a selection of local craft beer to go with it.  While there, enjoy the culinary scene with a guided food tour or a local farm tour.

There are accommodations for every budget - lake front to downtown, under the stars in a tent, to the wilderness lodge and unique B&B.  Find your own niche.

Thunder Bay International Airport is close to the city.  Check out a Great Lakes Cruise and arrive by boat.  Driving is an option as well, 13 hours from Detroit, 11 hours from Chicago and 6 hours from Minneapolis.
