Festival of the Angry Bear

April 4, 2020 

Marquette, MI


Each year, the city of Marquette celebrates Lake Superior’s attempt to thaw by showcasing barrel-aged beer, live music, delicious food and community involvement. Win more than $100 in prizes if you participate in the Woodland Creature Costume Contest. This celebration of the transition from winter to spring is open to all ages, but is 21+ only after 7 pm.


Easter Egg Hunt

Charlevoix, MI


Charlevoix’s 25th Annual Easter Egg Hunt is free for children up to 10 years old. Kids will also enjoy face painting, hot cocoa, cookies, and visiting with the Easter Bunny. Stafford’s Weathervane Restaurant, along with other select local restaurants, will be hosting Easter specials, brunch and dinner.


The Annual Fairy Festival

April 25-26, 2020

Jackson, MI


Grab your fairy wings and head to Jackson, Michigan, for a special weekend filled with activities, crafts, and vendors inspired by child-like imagination. This free festival includes Ye Ole Fairy Shoppe, the Cupcake Cafe, a Fairy Garden Contest, Tea with Miss Jackson Crossroads, carriage rides, dancing fairies and performances by the Fairy Festival Players. Friday evening concludes with the ticketed ($50) 2020 Twilight Fairy Gala, which features a light catered meal and dessert, dancing, a craft activity, and a magical performance.


Peace, Love & Hippies Festival

Houghton Lake, MI


Head to Michigan’s UP for this indoor festival that features ‘60s and ‘70s tribute bands, tie-dyed apparel, tapestries, natural products, holistic healers, and psychics. Hippies from all over come to celebrate peace, love, and happiness! Tickets are just $5 for the day, and kids under 12 get in free.



Tulip Time

May 2-10, 2020

Holland, MI


Heralded as America’s Best Small Town Festival and the 2017 tulip festival of the year, the 91st Tulip Time Festival honors Holland, Michigan’s Dutch heritage, showcases millions of tulips. The festival is full of national and local entertainment, world-renowned Dutch dancers, artisan markets, fireworks, and parades. Ticket price is based on which shows and events you wish to attend.


Spring Beer Festival

Traverse City, MI


Michigan Brewers Guild is hosting their very first Spring Beer Festival in Traverse City, Michigan! Try hundreds of Michigan beers while enjoying live local music and entertainment at Turtle Creek Stadium, home of the Traverse City Pit Spitters. Tickets go on sale Thursday, March 5, 2020, at 10 am, and can be via Eventbrite.



Taste of Ann Arbor

Tree Town’s favorite restaurants take over two blocks of downtown Ann Arbor for you to enjoy culinary tastes while listening to live music. Kids of all ages are welcome to participate in activities hosted by the Ann Arbor District Library, Grievewell Kite Festival, the Relax Station, and the Alzheimer’s Association. Food prices range from $1 (1 ticket) to $4 (4 tickets). Parking is free.
