If water is the main ingredient in your outdoor adventure then Ludington, Michigan, is a perfect match with 28 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, four inland lakes and 2000 miles of rivers and streams!  It is located halfway up the west coast of Michigan, 240 miles north of Chicago, 250 miles west of Detroit and 96 miles north of Grand Rapids on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan.  Shopping, dining or playing in downtown offers a great scenic background.  The SS Badger, the car ferry, travels between Ludington and Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Getting around by car is easy enough.

 

There are miles of clean sandy beaches, biking, hiking, kayaking, water sports and charter fishing.  The North Breakwater Lighthouse and the Big Sable Lighthouse are great attractions to visit.  The Ludington State Park was voted #1 in the Midwest by Midwest Magazine. Also, visit the Amber Elk Ranch, markets and wineries. There is truly something for everyone to explore.
